TIFFIN UNIVERSITY, Tiffin, OH— Kristina Collins, assistant professor of management at Tiffin University, was named vice provost for academic excellence, distinctiveness and effectiveness, according to Dr. Peter Holbrook, provost.
Professor Collins will lead the academic affairs team responsible for advancing TU’s academic excellence, distinctiveness and effectiveness. She and her team will be responsible for supporting the provost and the school deans in securing excellence in teaching and learning in the areas of library resources, faculty development, program prioritization, review and development, outcomes assessment, general education and co-curricular, and Celebrating Cultural Uniqueness.
“Collins brings to this position a wealth of experience in the areas of assessing institutional effectiveness, student learning and programmatic outcomes,” Holbrook said. “She has a background in adult education and training and development that will help guide and advance TU’s faculty development.”
Additionally, Collins has been actively engaged in university life helping to advance the mission and vision of Tiffin University. Her recent commitment and engagement to helping lead TU’s Celebrating Cultural Uniqueness initiative brings an added strength to the leadership team of the provost.
Collins has successfully completed her coursework for a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration and is in the process of completing her Dissertation at Trident (TUI) University International.
This spring, she was appointed to a three-year term as a member of the Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, the only global accrediting body to accredit business, accounting and business-related programs at all degree levels. Kristina has been an active member of ACBSP for many years. The business programs offered through the Tiffin University School of Business have been accredited by ACBSP since 1996.
“I am honored to be a part of the Provost’s leadership team as we pursue excellence, distinctiveness, and effectiveness in our academic programs,” Collins said.
A native of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Collins earned a Ph.D. from Trident University International; an M.S.Ed. and a B.A. from Indiana University.
